About the Journal

The Bangladesh Journal of Rural Development (BJRD) is an open-access, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Cumilla, Bangladesh. The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, and scholarly contributions that address contemporary issues, challenges, innovations, and practices in rural development and related fields. BJRD provides a platform for researchers, academics, development practitioners, policymakers, and professionals to share knowledge and promote evidence-based approaches to rural and socio-economic development.

Aim & Scope

BJRD aims to provide a platform for researchers, academics, development practitioners, policymakers, and other professionals to disseminate research findings and exchange knowledge on rural development and related issues. The journal encourages multidisciplinary research that contributes to improving rural livelihoods, reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development, strengthening institutions, and addressing emerging challenges in rural and socio-economic development.

Frequency of Publication

BJRD publishes three issues in a year: two English-language issues in January and July, and one Bangla-language issue in January. The journal publishes scholarly research articles, review papers, and other research contributions following the completion of the peer-review, editorial, and production processes.
